Biotalys, a company in the Agricultural Technology (AgTech) sector, has recently engaged in collaborative efforts with prominent plant pathology researchers in Europe and the U.S. The company is focused on creating protein-based biocontrol solutions to safeguard crops from pests and diseases. Their BioFun-4 R&D program, initiated last year, aims to develop a biofungicide targeting Phytophthora infestans, a water mould causing late blight in crops. Biotalys has entered a research collaboration with the University of Aberdeen in the UK, sponsoring a three-year PhD project in Prof. Pieter van West’s Oomycete Laboratory. This collaboration aims to enhance molecular-level expertise in oomycetes, aligning with Biotalys’ strategy centered on defined molecular targets within its AGROBODY™ 2.0 technology platform.
