In a strategic move to address water stress in maize cultivation, Bayer France and Elicit Plant, a leading agri-biotech company, have announced an exclusive partnership. Beginning October 1, 2024, Bayer will distribute Elicit Plant’s Best-a and EliZea products across France, focusing on enhancing maize resilience to water scarcity.

Jean-François Déchant, CEO of Elicit Plant, highlighted the significance of this collaboration, stating that partnering with Bayer will reinforce their market leadership in biosolutions for field crops. This initiative is expected to accelerate the adoption of solutions that not only preserve crop yields but also reduce plant water consumption by 20%.

Guillaume Chancrin, Head of the Crops Division at Bayer France, emphasized that the addition of Best-a and EliZea products complements Bayer’s existing offerings, which include DEKALB seeds, plant protection products, and the Climate Field View digital tools. This partnership demonstrates Bayer’s commitment to sustainable agriculture and supports corn growers in overcoming climate-related challenges.

Both companies aim to leverage this partnership to increase the accessibility and visibility of innovative solutions for managing water and climate stress, ultimately contributing to a more sustainable and resilient agricultural future in France.
