Certis Belchim is proud to have participated in the production of a thought-provoking series from the Royal Society of Biology (RSB) entitled ‘Biology for a better tomorrow’. This fascinating collection of short films, interviews and case studies illustrates how the different aspects of biology interact with crucially import global issues and highlights the essential contributions of the biosciences to the future world. The themes included were inspired by RSB’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Certis Belchim’s Chief Executive Officer, Mark Waltham, emphasised the importance of harnessing biological innovation in the development of sustainable crop protection solutions as the use of synthetic chemical products is gradually reduced. By combining chemical and biological products in complete crop protection programmes, we can better control pests and diseases and increase yields and farmers’ profitability.
The key word is collaboration, and the company sees itself as an essential bridge between farmers and their advisers and the researchers and discovery companies innovating in biology. Working with distribution partners and farmers to understand crop protection problems today and how they will evolve in the future, the company then uses that knowledge with its network of suppliers and discovery partners to develop bio products to fill those particular market needs.
