Certis Biologicals, a global leader in bio-based innovations, in partnership with Certis-Belchim, is pleased to announce the first registration of NemaClean®, a new biocontrol nematicide formulated with the Purpureocillium lilacinum microorganism (strain PL11).
The Netherlands has become the first country to authorize NemaClean® as a low-risk product for the control of root-knot nematodes in fruiting vegetables of the Cucurbitaceae and Solanaceae families. The Dutch Authority Ctgb served as the zonal Rapporteur Member State for this registration.
Following this authorization, NemaClean® is now under regulatory assessment in key European markets, including:
- Spain
- Italy
- France
- Portugal
- Greece
- Bulgaria
- Denmark
These countries represent significant opportunities for growers seeking effective solutions to manage root-knot nematodes, a damaging pest that has become increasingly difficult to control due to the reduction of conventional chemical options.
NemaClean® offers an innovative and sustainable approach to nematode control, leveraging the naturally occurring Purpureocillium lilacinum strain PL11 to suppress nematode populations while ensuring the long-term health of crops and soil.
The registration in the Netherlands marks a major milestone in Certis Biologicals’ mission to provide growers with effective, environmentally friendly alternatives to conventional nematicides. As regulatory approvals advance across Europe, NemaClean® is expected to become an essential tool for farmers facing increasing challenges from soil-borne pests.
