Embrapa Launches the Climate Journey Campaign Ahead of COP30

On May 7, in Brasília (DF), a national campaign titled “The Climate Journey” will be launched by Embrapa, featuring communication actions, preparatory events across all regions of Brazil, and culminating in a major exhibition on sustainable agriculture during COP30 this November in Belém (PA).

The initiative is designed to stimulate dialogue and understanding around the challenges and potential solutions for developing low-carbon, inclusive, and climate-resilient agriculture across Brazil’s diverse biomes. With Brazil playing host to the UN Conference on Climate Change (COP30), the campaign arrives at a crucial time to spotlight the country’s scientific contributions and sustainable practices in agriculture.

The Climate Journey recognizes science as a fundamental pillar in shaping agri-food systems that are more resilient, adaptive, and environmentally responsible. It emphasizes the importance of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, alleviating pressure on forests and natural resources, and ensuring food and nutritional security for all.

Key themes of the campaign include advancing production models grounded in the principles of the bioeconomy and circular economy, highlighting how these approaches can provide innovative responses to the ongoing climate emergency.

In addition to raising awareness, the campaign will also focus on practical implementation. This includes promoting technology transfer, training programs, and climate finance—tools essential to enabling sustainable transformation on the ground.

With scientific institutions like Embrapa at the forefront, Brazil’s Climate Journey is not just a campaign—it’s a national movement aligning agricultural progress with environmental responsibility, ensuring that solutions are accessible, inclusive, and impactful for the future of global food systems.
