Prime Minister Modi Meets High-Level Japanese Business Delegation to Strengthen Bilateral Economic Ties

Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed a high-powered business delegation from Keizai Doyukai, Japan, led by Chairperson Takeshi Niinami and accompanied by 20 senior corporate executives. The meeting underscored the shared commitment to deepen economic cooperation between India and Japan.

The discussions focused on bolstering bilateral collaboration in key sectors such as agriculture, marine products, space, defence, insurance, technology, infrastructure, aviation, clean energy, nuclear energy, and MSMEs.

Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed India’s commitment to policy-driven governance that ensures transparency and predictability, eliminating ambiguity for global investors. He highlighted the rapid expansion of India’s aviation sector with special focus on infrastructure development through new airports and enhanced logistics networks.

A key highlight of the discussion was India’s thrust on green energy initiatives, especially in biofuels. PM Modi emphasized the potential of biofuels to transform the agricultural sector by providing value-added opportunities to Indian farmers, aligning with India’s sustainable development goals. He encouraged Japanese businesses to partner in this field.

The meeting also touched upon India’s expanding insurance sector and emerging opportunities in space and nuclear energy. The Japanese delegation expressed strong interest in deepening ties and leveraging India’s diverse market and skilled workforce.

Takeshi Niinami acknowledged the strong India-Japan partnership and praised PM Modi’s vision of “Make in India, Make for the World.”
