Biotrop Announces Jonas Hipólito as a New President

Biotrop, a division of the BioFirst Group, a leader in biological and natural solutions for agriculture present in over 70 countries, has announced Jonas Hipólito, co-founder and current Director of Strategy and Innovation, as the new President of the company. After seven years at the helm, Antonio Carlos Zem is stepping down from the role.

Leadership Transition

Jonas will assume the role of President of Biotrop starting January 15, while Zem will oversee the transition process until March 31, after which he will take on a strategic position on the Global Board of BioFirst. This new role will allow him to continue supporting Biotrop’s expansion and bring his experience, vision, and strategies to other divisions of the Group.

During his leadership, Antonio Carlos Zem spearheaded a series of initiatives that resulted in significant growth, technological innovation, and global expansion. Under his guidance, Biotrop exceeded R$ 760 million in revenue in less than seven years, increased production capacity, introduced cutting-edge technologies, expanded market access, and established a foundation for long-term sustainable growth.

The new President of Biotrop holds a degree in Agronomic Engineering from Esalq/USP and a Master’s degree in Sustainable Crop Production from Montpellier SupAgro in France. He is also certified in Marketing Strategy from Cornell University and in finance from Harvard University.

His leadership approach combines a strong focus on innovation, sustainability, digital transformation, and a close connection with customers worldwide.
